The presentation will give an overview of research activities assessing whether the (UK) natural gas grid can be converted to carry either a hydrogen/natural gas mix, or pure hydrogen.
The presentation will draw on a limited number of studies which have assessed the possibility of injecting hydrogen, and determined possible boundary levels. The assessment of converting the network completely to hydrogen refers to personal research undertaken at University College London.
Possible challenges and benefits will be discussed briefly, and further areas for investigation will be highlighted.
